Global Warming

What is Global Warming ?

Global Warming is when the temperature of the earth starts to increase gradually due to green house gases for example CO2 which is caught by the atmosphere. Long time ago there were not as much cars or factories that produce Carbon emissions so there was no threat unlike nowadays the world is growing more and more economically and as we can see factories are increasing daily and also cars are getting more in number because it became a very important way of transportation. This economical growth is producing a great amount of Carbon which is affecting the earth now.

People are not taking the global warming problem seriously at all. Total ignorance is the response of people about this subject. If this problem goes on and grows there will be a lot of sudden climate changes like the Hurricane Katrina which is said that it had happened from global warming. We could expect more of these terrifying hurricanes along with flooding or many other climate disasters if this problem is not solves at once.

Movie Review: An Inconvenient Truth

I have seen a movie long time ago about global warming on TV which did not drive my attention. Later on when i saw another movie in class which was presented by our teacher and the actor was Al Gore Former Vice President of The USA i was really interested in seeing more because his act was very convenient and his had a high interest on global warming which makes the viewer feels that he is part of the movie. It was an excellent documentary by him so i would advice anyone reading my blog now to rush and watch the movie because if he did not then he have missed a lot.

The movie showed us the carbon emissions was not produced at the past as it is now. He has also proved that in the future we will be
experiencing a lot of climate changes. Al Gore have really proved his points of view and succeeded in his movie to drive people's attention to this big and dangerous problem. Many people did not have a small idea about global warming until this movie was produced.

Cause of Global Warming

Carbon Dioxide from Power Plants

There are many causes to global warming and the major one is the CO2 that is produced from power plants. I chose this specific cause because in my opinion, this is the reason why a lot of CO2 is produced and proves a lot of facts. Long time ago, there weren't any power plants which explains why scientists have proven the difference of the amount of CO2 used nowadays than in the past. The burning of fossil fuels are used for the purpose of electricity generation, therefore, the amount of CO2 produced these days outnumbers the amount that was used in the past. A lot of countries have power plants, so just imagine how much CO2 is being wasted. Every developing country does not use only one but many power plants and if this keeps going, then it will be a disaster. We cannot tell each country to stop using power plants because it is essential to have it. Instead, Countries need to have a limit to the number of power plants to have so we can at least have a limit to the amount of CO2 each country produces.

Effect of Global Warming

The Effect on Coral Reefs

There are many effects of global warming as it has for causes. Some of the effects include an increase of flooding, storms, and rising sea-levels. This will cause many animals to migrate and do a lot of damage to animals habitat. Coral reefs is also one of what global warming effects, and I chose it because it is one of the major effects.

Coral reefs serve as a home, feeding area, and shelter for many fish, plants and animals. The increase in surface temperature can kill them and global warming is the cause to the surface temperature to increase. Coral reefs are sensitive organisms and if the CO2 we produce over the years can kill all of them in no time unless we do something about the amount of CO2 we produce.

What we as people can do to reduce CO2

Here are some things we can do as people:

  1. Switch off your lights whenever you leave the house or a room that you won't use.
  2. Change your car filters from time to time.
Stop cruising around the city for a long period of time in the car. Cars are here for transportation, take you from one place to another and not to spend alot of time cruising around the city.
  3. Find less/cheaper ways to cool your house and turn off the AC's whenever your not around and save electricity.
  4. Stop using computers for a long time, and whenever your not using it shut it down because leaving it on consumes alot of energy.
  5. Buy a good vehicle that does not burn alot of fuel and produce alot of carbon emissions.
  6. If you are a manager in a company or a school, encourage the employees to minimize energy loss in the premises by awarding them.
  7. Walk more, but this problem isn't from citizens, it's from the government which will be talked about on the next post.

What Government's can do to help reduce CO2

The Government is a very big part to solve this problem in my opinion. If they set some rules then people will have to obey or they will be having strict consequences towards not obeying.

There are many rules the government can put for example they can allow each house to own only 2 cars because as we can see in the U.A.E every house has at least 4 or 5 cars.

They can also stop people cruising at night because if we go to corniche sometimes we will find people not having any place to go to but only moving around with their car's for hours .

Maybe they can reduce some hours of companies working if it does not affect the economic very badly.

Taxi can be stopped moving around at night looking for people and people can call the taxi if they need it then he can go and pick them up. Because if we see the number of Taxi's in the streets at night looking for costumers these huge numbers are producing a great amount of CO2 .

Conclusion

I hope readers got some benefit from my blog because i did all my best to get information to viewers.

As we can see global warming cannot be stopped but we can try and reduce it's causes as much as we can and this is the least we can do.

Future generations will get affected more than us and we are sorry to say that because our children will be with them

I really hope governments start doing some things about this big issue and if they did they will really help people because people need to get united and solve this problem together and also countries should help each other and help solve this problem as much as they can.

Thanks for reading my blogger and hope i got your satisfactory at least with the things i posted.
